MEET THE SHOPCATS
TUESDAY
To her many fans she was simply known as Shopcat. But Tuesday, aka Purrl Nightingale, aka Shopcat, was Satisfactory’s feline matriarch. In truth, she was The Boss.
Little is known of her humble beginnings. Tuesday was acquired along with the light blue building located at 1347 West Broad Street in Athens Georgia, which today houses Satisfactory. A scrappy street smart kitten of the night who knew no rules or laws, armed with only her sharp claws, a mean left hook, and unrelenting will to survive.
As Tuesday matured into an elegant monarch, she remained strong in her convictions, demanding a streamlined production schedule and tuna treats. She definitely earned what some may consider a comfortable lifestyle. Tuesday enjoyed a chin-scratch, but did not suffer fools gladly. One was reprimanded for treating her with familiarity or any attempt to pick her up.
Sadly, Tuesday left us in 2022, but her “Shop Cat” legacy lives on.
Gorgeous George
You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Tuesday’s errant son, Gorgeous George. He has been with us since the beginning despite getting off to a bit of a rough start.
George was just a kitten when Satisfactory set up shop on Broad Street. Early in the construction phase he had to be freed from a doorknob cut-out, having managed to get his head stuck. He was never the same since.
George visits us once a day to mew incessantly for food, then flees when anyone approaches him. He is of the nervous sort.
His mother was not amused by this flighty and nervous nature, so regarded him from a loving distance. It came as no surprise that Tuesday would “outsource” when it came time to finding her successor.
Gilligan
Gilligan knew what he was doing when he showed up here looking for a free meal in 2021. He came from the mean streets of Athens and worked his way to the top. He is now the roundest, happiest, most spoiled black kitty you'll ever meet.
Where Tuesday ruled with an iron claw, Gilligan is patient, caring and isn’t afraid of getting his tail dirty from time to time.
Come by and say hi to our overlord anytime, but don’t forget to bring treats!
Finally, as the great Bob Barker used to say, “please remember to get your pets spayed or neutered.”
